Default Merc GL350 - Anderson Plug fitment

Need to have a Anderson / BH plug system fitted to my Merc GL350. I don't want to risk invalidating my Merc motor plan or warranty. Planning a overland trip and will be taking a 4x4 camper trailer with fridge and need to get vehicle and trailer connected. The GL has the battery under the drivers seat (only the Germans can think of this). Looking for advice on the solution and a credible installer.

Current Jeep Grand Cherokee has its battery under the passenger seat too. They use AGM batteries, which are better than traditional batteries in many ways but do not cope well with heat in the least, which is why they find a spot outside the engine bay where it tends to be a little warm from time to time.

I knew someone with a shorty defender.
It had the battery under the passenger seat

the wife was / is a little beyond the seats carrying capacity and over time managed to distort the springs to the point where the seat shorted out the battery causing a fire
    so not the best location

the weight comment really burned her a..se

My Land Rover also had it under the passenger seat - in fact two batteries. It was covered with an issulated metal lid, and the seat had no springs - moulded foam.

I think they learned from Beetle fires?

These motor plans can be really problematic. Use different tires and the plan is not anymore valid (For instance Volvo and BMW have this type of strict restrictions).

I would talk to Merc about the installation and get their opinion in writing.
