A couple of weeks ago a friend asked my if he can tag along with us on our next 4x4 trail day with his old Nissan X-Trail, after a long discussion we decided to give it a go despite the fact that the X-Trail does not have a Diff lock. I though it best to go to De Wildt as I have done the trail a couple of times and regard it as not overly technically and easy 2x4 trails when you don't have the courage to attempt "Gert se Klip".

The Sunday arrived and we met up at the Picnic area and started to deflate our tires, I decide to show him the man made track that will show you what you can expected on the trail. After doing the man made track in my "Trokkie" we decided that we should rather not take the X-Trail through this man made course, but rather go straight onto the trail. The trail took a bit longer than usual as we also took the drone with to capture even better footage of his X-Trail doing a proper 4x4 Trail, setting up the drone at every obstacle took some time, but well worth the effort.

The X-Trail had some difficulties with the Axel twisters due to the lack of a Diff Lock, but nothing a snatch strap could not fix.

In summary we had a fantastic day, with even better video footage and very surprised with the capabilities of the X-Trail.
