Default Route advice JHB - Caprivi - Zambia - Zim - JHB

This is our first trip to the pan handle and then into Zambia so would appreciate some perspective from those in the know

day 1 JHB to either Kang or Ghanzi via the N4 and A2 - Kang looks achievable and if we have a good border crossing we may be able to push to Ghanzi

day 2 can we do Kang to Ngepi Camp, as this requires a border crossing? or is it better to go from Ghanzi (T4A indicates it is about 8h30 from Kang)

day 3 to 4 Ngepi Camp

Day 5 leave Ngepi Camp to Nkasa Rupara (staying at Livingstone camp site on the wetland) -this looks straightforward down B8 then C49 we have 5 nights here!

Day 10 - we head for Zambia, where is best to re-stock, we have been told that Katima Mulilo is best as it is cheaper than Zambia?

It looks like we can cross from Katima into Zambia and usethe M10 all the way to Livingstone. If we have restocked in Katima where wouldbe best to stay over as we are heading to Mvuu Lodge near the Lower ZambezNational Park? The moorings comes highly recommended but that feels too farafter taking into account restocking and a border crossing? I saw on one of thethreads Bruce Miller Private Game Farm was mentioned but canít find contactdetails or a website. Any other suggestions? Should we just stay and relax inLivingstone in a bed for a change and then head out early the next morning forMvuu?

After 5 nights in Mvuu we head to Zim to see friends inChinoyi (north of Harare) and help themwith an orphanage they are involved in nice way to end the trip! THIS IS WHEREWE NEED THE MOST ADVICE SHOULD WE TRAVEL BACK TO SA THROUGH ZIM TO BEIT BRIDGEOR IS IT BETTEER THROUGH BULAWAYO THEN PLUMTREE IN BOTSWANA?

OR IS IT JUST BETTERJUST TO GO BACK VIA ZAMBIA THE WAY WE CAME PAST KASANE ETC? WE NOT KEEN ONDEALING WITH THE ZIM COPS AND THIS SEEMS UNAVOIDABLE AND WE DONíT PAY BRIBES SOBASED ON FEEDBACK LOOKS LIKE THE LONG WAY BACK MAY BE THE MOST PEACEFUL. WETOLD THE ROAD PAST BULAWAYO THEN PLUMTREE IS IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION

Sorry - replying on the fly, so am just responding to the restocking question: Katima Mulilo has a range of shops, including a good Pick n Pay. Livingstone has a very good Spar (we got excellent rump steak there on our last visit) and a Checkers. Prices are a lot higher in Zambia as most of their stuff is imported from SA or Namibia. In Livingstone, Maramba River Lodge is reasonably priced with camping, safari tents, and chalets. Great birding from their deck.
