Hi. I don't see a thread wrt mods for the Prado 120 so thought I'd start one. I've been meaning to post a few mods on my Prado for ages. Finally took some pictures today so here goes. Please add your mods to the thread.
This is the view from the back. I made a shelf from plywood. I attached it to the floor of the Prado with the existing holes for the jump seats - just replaced the screws. My suitcase solar panel for my trailer slides under here with all the cables regulator etc as well as a frontrunner shower arm. On the right I have space for 3 bottles of wine and on the left I have 2 poles with led strips as mobile lights. Fridge is tied down onto the plywood base and opens up fully. 4 camp chairs fit on the left of the fridge. The right side has tie downs for ammo boxes etc. Next to this on the right is a small adjustable table held in by the ammo boxes.
I've also made a drop down table which folds down from the rear door and folds up and away when not in use. There is a braai grid attached here permanently.
There is an auxiliary lead crystal battery in the boot behind the 50l national luna. The regulator for the solar panel on the roof of the vehicle is also here as is my recovery gear and a few additional sockets running off the solar.
This picture shows the water tank and taps. I've attached a tap to the rear bumper via Rivnuts so its removable. Also have another tap at the top. Depending on what I'm doing I either use the top tap or the bottom one.
This is a panel I made out of aluminum checker plate and covered the existing hole in the rear to run led lights and work lights to the roof rack. I've put led light strips on each side and the rear of my roof rack as well as 2 work lights on the right and one at the rear. Each of these has a separate switch so I can switch on the required lights. This runs of the main battery.
These are extra USB switches I have made in the existing holes in the centre console and at the rear I made a cover for the existing holes. All of these can be removed and changed back to stock if needed - all USB's and cigarette sockets are connected to main battery via the switches in the other picture to charge IPads, phones etc. Other switch is for light bar. I’ve also run the radio aerial from the roof to the rear console.
This is a net I attached to the roof to store our pillows and any other soft items in.
I’ve attached a torch and fire extinguisher via the existing screw holes by the rear doors.
This is a map of Southern and East Africa that has been wrapped on the bonnet in case we need to see where we are going. And a few other pics.
Please post some mods you have done to your Prado 120. I think it’s an awesome vehicle- great compromise between being rugged and capable.
Cheers
Karl

Very nice and compact.
Just a tip. I put velcro under my charger, so it just sticks to the carpet.

Thats one well kitted out 120. I've only seen similar on the Auzzie Pradopoint website. The rear door fold down table is on my to-do-list. I may need to pay you a visit for a cuppa coffee and get some ideas for my rig.

Hi bos suzi. The engine bay is stock. I've got the extra battery behind the fridge in the boot. Wasn't keen on having the battery permanently in the hot engine bay. I just switch between solar, alternator and 220v when needed as easy to get to from back seat. I also take it out if we don't have a trip planned for a while.
Hi guys - I'm urgenty looking for a rear bumper for my 120. Where did you get yours Karl?
