    Default Newbie to the community

    Hi all

I'd registered with this community some years back and despite not actually owning a 4x4 vehicle at the time, the wealth of information available on this forum is fantastic!
So, now I've re-registered, this time as an owner of a 4x4 - my first one ever.

I look forward to searching this community to get all the help & tips I may need.

I recently purchased a 2005 Isuzu KB 300TDi LX 4x4 double cab with 161 000km on the clock with full service history.
I took a huge gamble in that I did not see or test drive the vehicle before buying......something that may still come back to haunt me!
I've had the vehicle for just over 2 weeks now and so far, so good. She's a little noisey and a little slow, but, feels pretty solid.

I drove the vehicle from Klerksdorp to Hillcrest on the day I took delivery (Thursday) and then on the Saturday I drove to Mozambique, returning home on the Sunday.
So, a fair amount of driving in a short space of time, with no apparent issues.

    Cheers

Red face Re: Newbie to the community

    Thanks guys

I'm enjoying getting used to and getting to know the vehicle.

Are there any recommendations for good, reliable, non-franchise Isuzu workshops in the greater Durban area?
I've been given a verbal estimate cost of R 6 800.00 for a major service from a local franchise dealer.

Also, can anyone confirm if this model has a cambelt /camchain?

    Thanks
