    Model: Polo 1.4 Comfortline Sedan
    Year: 2014
    Mileage: 14,500
    Problem: Massive brake judder.
Cause of problem(if known): Front brake discs warped.
Specifics of repair work carried out: Replace with new discs and pads (not done yet - see below).
    Cost of repair: R3,500.00
Who did the repair: Tavcor William Moffett was supposed to do it, but at R3,500.00 for discs that will just warp again, I will rather get better aftermarket discs and pads and install those myself.
    Vehicle under warranty, Y/N: Y
Was damage covered by warranty: No. Brake discs are apparently only covered for 1 year/10,000km.

As a side note, our previous 2011 Polo hatch had exactly the same problem. Front discs replaced twice in under 30,000km. First time they were replaced at 16,000km under warranty (WTF?), second time was for our account. VW is apparently aware of the brake issue on the Polo. The replacement discs on our first Polo were "upgraded". Lasted for about 6,000km before warping again. So between 2 Polos and in less than a combined 45,000km we've destroyed 3 sets of discs!

During the same period we did 56,000km in our Amarok, and 30,000km in our Passat, so driving style and maintenance, IHMO, does not play a role in this. It's a 1400 Polo for crying out loud. We sold our Mazda Midge at 146,000km with it's original non-ventilated discs!

I think I have the same issue with my amarok, except it's the ESP and seatbelt lights.

Vehicle has been to 3 separate workshops all of whom weren't able to fix the problem. I don't suppose you know a specialist in PTA who can help me?

Lastly, was your Rok able to engage "off road" mode whilst having this problem?

Problem: aircon - apparently a common problem based on how quick they diagnosed it and how quickly they gave me a quote.

Basically 16k for a new compressor, condenser and some other bits. They say the alt has a bearing that gives up and that causes the ac to pack up.

My concern is that I had the pulleys and fan belt replaced at the last service and there are new marks in the engine bay that make me think the buffoons were using a pry bar instead of the correct tool. It could be coincidence, but I am thinking this may have influenced the bearing failure.
