    Default High mileage LC200 V8

So everyone says these LC200's can run forever and at 200000km it is barely run in.

So I am looking for the high mileage owners, the ones who bought a LC200 at 150k km and up and what is your current mileage? Please share some feedback on:

    1. Any issues
    2. Service costs
    3. Where do you service
    4. Any warranties available for high mileage (older vehicles)
    5. Anything else you can share (experiences - good or bad)

    Many thanks,

Seems like not alot of people have high mileage LC200's. I would also be very interested to see some replies to your questions.

Ya, makes you wonder as you always here the stories - "my friend had one with xxx km, no issues" or "200000km just about run in", etc.

    So where are these owners?

They have been on the market for 10 years now and I think most owners do not use it as their daily commute (so I suspect they typically drive less than 20 000 km/year). I cannot think that there are too many out there with more than 200 000 km at this stage.

Edit: I see there are a couple on valueforest with 200k - 300k km on them. Perhaps you will find a decent sample size...

Is there an underlying frustration or inferiority complex here?

You can always ask the LC100 guys? I'm sure there is a bigger statistical sample available there...

    Hahahaha,

Not at all, genuinely interested to hear feedback as these vehicles seems very tempting at this stage. Toss up between an older LC200 or newer Prado 150 at this stage.

If you get feedback from them, please come and revert back here.

A LC 200 with 200,000km is still an expensive vehicle, problems wont be cheap to fix, would also like to get some comments on them.

First three months is free. Most join thereafter as it is a really useful forum if you own a LC and its really not a lot of money. The fee keeps trolls out.

I work in the car industry.......I have seen quite a few LC 200 with over 200 000 km on the clock.

Only saw one with with 350 000 km on the clock.

What amazes me is how good the interiors of these vehicles look after 10 years and 200 000 plus on the clock.

Bought it at the 95k mark after selling my 100 VX Petrol @ 300k for R300K fully kitted.

My 1998 4500 carb 80 series GX - SOLD it at 400k only last year also fully kitted - I am sorry that I sold it.

I can't comment too much but also got one of those I know a guy stories. Mine has 126000km on and is still like new.

I know a guy quite well, he has a 2008 model, drives literally like an idiot (I have been with him in that vehicle and never again will I), the last I heard he had over 250000km which was more than a year ago. He has had no major issues and is still going strong.

I know of someone that replaced both turbos on his, if I remember correctly it cost around R65k and Toyota paid half as it was a few months out of warranty - not sure of the mileage but probably 100k+??
Same guy had to wait about a week for a gear selector sensor from Japan (not as bad a Mitsubishi I suppose)

Some Diesel models up to mid 2010 had issues with turbo using oil and piston that seize and KDSS issues. After mid 2010, solid vehicle.

I have 2010 LC 200. Bought in 2015 with 123 000 km on the clock. Now at 190 00km. Wonderful vehicle and absolutely no issues. Regular servicing at Hermanus Toyota. Tow a Metalian mini on camping trips and fitted with bull bar and roof rack. Average about 12L/100km. Drops to 14 when towing. Probably the best vehicle available for overlanding.

2008 Landcruiser VX 200 Diesel. Just done my 240 000 km service and had to replace the waterpump R4400. It still runs like new. I had the 80 and 100 series and the VX200 is by far superior in my opinion.
