DD make sure to get the CATs out at least.
When they get blocked the extra heat mess-up the manifold gaskets.
To replace then is also a bodyoff affair

Click seatbelt in and out 10 times in 30 seconds or something like that. I Allways wear a seatbelt except in the series. But I hate it bonging at me when theres something on the passanger seat

Exactly, first thing I did on both my D3 and 4 when I bought it. Keep on clicking seatbelt in and out till you get a double BONG- then it's disabled.

This is my 3rd D3 so I am not new to the body. It's just that lovely V8 that is new to me. Like you say consumption is not a biggie when repairs are kept down.
I have only heard positive things about this motor.
The roll is on special as well you'll save quite a bit

Just a note, if something is heavy enough to set off the seat belt reminder, it really shouldn't be riding unrestrained on the seat next to you...

Always wear a seatbelt but that 'bong' drives me nuts while on a game drive in Botswana/ driving out the Estate etc. don't need a noise to remind me to wear a seatbelt, the red warning on the display is irritating enough!

1st tank to tank consumption is 17.3l/100Km, probably 80% was to school and work and back.
My TDV6 average over 3 years was 14.6l/100km.

The V8 is an incredible machine and I don't regret buying it for a minute.
It has it's problems and these will be dealt with 1 at a time.

I know there are a few guys watching to make decisions of their own. I will post here as I go along.

So where do you recommend putting the six pack of longtoms.

Quite handy actually. Stops bonging when you have had enough.

Well, of all the people here, is there one who can say they have never been helped by someone in their life? Whether big or small, at the time you got the help, it was a big relief. Did the people who help you hold you to ransom? Are they reminding you every time that they helped you? I believe in helping from the heart not from the head. If a person abuse the help, then that will be for them but next time I see someone who is in need and that person touches my heart I do help. DD was in a dog hole at the time. People decided to help and people helped. To come back 2 years and tell him that I helped you shows how low we as human beings are. Would we have preferred for him to remain a begging bowl and we will always pride to say we are buying him this and that? His situation changed for the better and instead of people to celebrate with him people are busy reminding him of the time he was on his knees? The man made a decision to buy a D3 V8. Whether it's right or not is no one's business as he used his money. Those who feel owed because they helped, please can you pm him and request your refund instead of trolling him day and night. This is a car forum not a financial advise or personality grooming forum. You help because you want to and if people abuse your generosity then you make adjustments to your generosity
