Wireless headphones are nearly all Bluetooth. JBL is a bit pricey. They come in two sizes, mine is the bigger size. I prefer full size headphones for extended periods of use. The JBL also has a direct input so I can use them on a plane, which I do often. Musica has a really great range of Wireless headphones in all price ranges.

Besides the headphones you will also need an Audio-Bluetooth converter/transmitter to attach to your TV or Decoder. You will need to do some research as to which Audio output you are connecting to and get the appropriate BT converter with correct connectors/cables. (The nice thing about this is that I can also BT my TV audio to my little Marley portable speaker for when I braai.)

I went thru this process last month, for much the same reason.

Looking too and wondering if battery life of the transmitter is a factor as well?

What sort of battery life is there or do I need to get a power cable and plug in somewhere?

From my binge-gaming days, I learned to get full-ear headphones.
They are so much more comfortable.
Other earphones sit too snug or compress the ears and will likely start hurting over long use.
I'd rather pay a bit more and have comfort.

Exactly my feeling. I've had a couple of the smaller ones, not necessarily cheaper either.

The ones that cover the ears completely drown out background noise, which may or may not be desirable. If I want to hear what's going on I simply just slide one side halfway off.

I don't use them every day, but batteries last quite a long time, for daily use I guess a couple of weeks. You can also try rechargeable batteries. Sender station and headphones use 2 x AAA each, no power cable. It has an earphone cable / AV plug that plugs into tv from the base station.

Correct, if they aren't up to scratch doesn't really matter.

Another nice thing with them is the radio and also the fact that one transmitter can service "n" amount of headsets. Rather handy for when MIL is around.

Being a bit shy of technical knowledge, how would I configure the wires so that SWAMBO doesn't have to pull the wire out of the TV H/P jack to hear TV as normal ?

Our TV is in a difficult spot to get behind without moving the whole heavy stand. We never got the little bit of cable with 3 jacks so am putting the black jack from the emitter straight into the TV H/P hole.

    Thanks

ps sound seems fine without any adjustments.

You wanna see grumpy. Try me after getting into a shower wearing a brand news R65k set of hearing aids.

For somebody who doesn't know that they are hearing impaired, check the smile on their face when you slip a decent quality set of headphones on their heads.

SWAMBO says I have selective hearing.

I can't hear SQUAT in a place like a crowded pub. Just white noise.
