    Note to self:
    1. Make sure of the facts
    2. Source must be credible and contactable
    3. Eye witness accounts will strengthen your case
    4. Images must be technically sound - verify with engineers
    5. Google location with recent verified images is critical
    6. Do not post any "interesting although they could be fake and will be scrutinized" images

    I don't think it is a bad thing to know whether a picture is photo shopped or , it changes the interest in it from a wonder about the strangeness of the situation to a wonder about the creativeness of the artist. They can still be interesting but for other reasons.
