Default Alternatie to Khama Rhino en route to Kubu

Hi all. I am trying to find a 1 night stop over between Pretoria and Kubu Island, was panning Khama as our usual stop over but they are fully booked for the requested date in July.

Any suggestions would b appreciated, I was thinking perhaps a short haul to African Ranch on the Limpopo but then day 2 is perhaps a bit long.

Hey there, while I can't help with another place to stop, thanks for confirming Khama as a good stop on route to Kubu. We are planning a trip in Nov. Never been before. How long is the drive in hours to Kubu? Regards James

James, just over 200km. In my opinion a great stop over, try and arrive early afternoon as the photo opportunities at the waterhole are rather special

We stayed a night at Camp Itumaleng in Palapye a few years back.
Basic but clean, and could get a meal there.

Itumaleng is too noisy, trains shunting the whole night and if you are unlucky then noisy back packers. But, it is clean etc- also open-air showers and toilets in winter- not lekka.
