    Default TJ Build/ Advice Thread

    Hi Guys

I'm going to start with some mods on my TJ, will appreciate advice from guys who has done the same and what worked, what didn't etc.

    There are 2 rules:
Always lie to Swambo about the costs
Everything must be cash, no debt for mods.

I'll use post 2 too keep this thread updated.

Currently the Jeep is pretty standard.
It's a 2006 TJ Sahara Auto with around 58k km.

    The only things done:
    33 inch Tyres
2 inch lift, TJM Coils & Procomp shocks.
    2 inch body lift
Wheel spacers to clear some rubbing issues from bigger tyres.

    Short term mods:
    Diff Ratios Ordered 4.56
    Ox Locker rear Ordered
    Tummy Tuck
    SYE

    Long term mods:
    Not sure yet.

As far as swambo goes, when she asks how much something cost then say R500, regardless.

    First Question:

I am thinking of 4.56 for Diff Ratios.

From my reading it looks like the best for 33 inch tyres.

Does anyone have the same setup with auto box? Is it working for you?

    Default TJ Build/ Advice Thread

I know a couple of guys with 4.56 & 33s & the combination performs extremely well. Increased traction is amazing. Dunno about the auto.

Edit: don't go more than 33's on a TJ as they are the perfect size.

Maybe replace the asthmatic straight six with a Lexus V8? There is a guy on the forum that recently bought a Lexus V8 TJ, but we can hang him later.

Get a UCF LoPro mount for your transmission when attempting the Tummy Tuck.
When I got mine I was super impressed at the workmanship. and design.

Hoe ry hy? Sal jy dit aanbeveel?

Hoe vergelyk drive ability, low down torque ens met oorspronklike engine.

Enjoy ge cooling issues? Kan jy by alles redelik bykom, bv filters, drain plugs ens?
Vrywaring: Niks wat ek hier kwyt raak moet hoegenaamd as feite beskou word nie.

Mine sounded absolutely glorious with large diameter exhaust and mini-CATs. The low down torque of that motor makes it laugh at pretty much everything else in tricky offroad stuff. I miss mine so much!

But the torque on those motors happens too high up. I've yet to see a Lexus beat an I6 offroad.

I was referring to the stock I6 in my TJ.
