NOT that much change Thy. They tried repairing, from Tsau to Nokaneng, thats the only better potion. The rest is still potholes and donkeys and cows.
The other development is that, they started cutting shrubs by the road, but its done by hands and slow, so less area is covered.

Worse than before... Slow going. Accidents, tyre punctures, uncooperative bus drivers.....Give that Sehithwa-Shakawe 4 hours

We need to drive this road towards end May 2025.Can anyone comment on the current condition of the road. We will be travelling from Boteti River Camp via Maun to Popa falls and need to reach the Mohembo Bordercrossing before they close at 18:00. If my calculations are correct we will have to maintain an average speed of 60kph on the stretch between Sehithwa and Shakawe. Is that possible towing a Jurgens Xplorer?

NO change to the road. Good condition between Maun and Tsau, to Nokaneng. It's bad towards Shakawe. BUT its doable , just reduce speed when you encounter large potholes.

Thanks. Would you say the drive from Maun to Mohembo can safely be done in 4,5 to 5 hours?
Your input is really much appreciated.

I did Maun to Sepupa in 4 hours recently, so an extra hour to Shakawe would be 5 hours. As Pat said, after Nokaneng the road gets worse - they are working on sections but there are long sections where the tar is worn away on the edges meaning two cars cannot safely pass each other, and it is better to drive on the gravel to the side. And potholes
