Hadida done like that is, on the toughness scale on par with a BFG tyre. Having never owned the brand of tyre and having never done hadida on a fire, it goes without saying that I heard this from a friend.

    How to cook a Hadida...
1st pluck and clean, remove Walkie Talkies
Boil in salted water for 1 hour with a clean Clay Brick on top to hold it down
2 nd, empty water out remove hadida, fry onion and garlic plus some white wine, one for you one for the pot, add mixed greens & herbs add water to cover hadida bring to boil not forgetting the brick on top... Boil another hour. Remove brick, remove hadida... Replace brick into the stock, throw hadida away, drink soup...

And while the inhabitants of the van Wyk household are having supper, I poured another homemade rum and am "listening" to the Koos du Plessis, Kouevuur song. The words I know from memory and the heart, the flames in the glass pic reminded me of his poetry and thoughts, which were unceremoniously extinguished before their time.

"Die helde, na al die geploeter.
L diep in die aarde se kors.
En ek drink en ek dink aan die soeter, wyn teen die groter dors.
Met 'n koue hart, tot die mre uur.
Drink ek teen die vuur in my kop.
    En ek voel die koue.
    Ek voel die vuur.
    Vreet my stuk-stuk op."

Cheers and as always, thank you to all who share and make this thread what it is.
