    As the oven is still very hot one needs to focus, baking tray is placed and the door is used to even out the radiant heat from all sides and the residual heat from the dome's curve. Turn the pan every five minutes in all directions otherwise one will see some parts will scorch. Twenty minutes doing this in the huvin and the broodjies are done.

    Tonight was a fillet steak salted & peppered & cooked reverse sear, 1st in the oven @ 90°C for 45 mins, sear was done in the flat bottom cast iron pot with hot oil to brown it. Garlic, butter, rosemary, thyme and onions, onions where then caramelised.. Served on a Rusticana roll with salad and chilli ... Too much of nice...     Rough chop an onion
    grate 2 Tbs ginger
    1 Tbs Garam masala
    1 tbs chili powder
    1 tbs Cumin
    1 tbs cayenne pepper
    1 tbs salt
    ground black pepper to taste
    tin coconut cream
    tin chopped tomato
    600g cubed chicken breast

    Fry the onions until soft, Add the ginger and spices and fry for 3 minutes while stirring.

    add the chicken cubes and stir until covered in the spices and they start browning.

    Deglaze the pot with the coconut milk, and add the tomato.

    Simmer for an hour until sauce thickens.

    Cheers Boyz. No braai fire tonight gents. Leftover bolognaise from last night is being lasagnefied with the addition of a cheese sauce and some form of pasta, probably macaroni.
