After a long week of working from home, which people told me was relaxing, they lied.
After moving all the grass, which was in a nice flat layer all over the yard, using a small petrol machine that makes a surprising amount of noise, into the compost heap.

    It finally are time.

Cheers boys and girls. Click image for larger version.

Our friend bought himself a Cobb...the Kitchen in One model.

The other day he said I should take it as it doesn't work for him.

So past Sunday Swambo decided to test the Cobb. Bread was the choice. Dough was mixed and allowed to rise. Kneaded down and allowed to rise....
Fired up eight briquettes. Did that outside and when ready carried Cobb indoors.(windy like hell)
    Dough into five blikbekers.
    Hour later perfect breads.

Coals left, that shouldn't go to waste...quick flapjack mixing and we had flapjack snack.
Coals still not finished, cooked rice in cast iron pot on leftover coals for supper meal.

Following day made two Alu foil pouches with veggies and grilled wors in wok attachement as to utilise the 'sauce' from wors.
    Six briquettes used

Yesterday veggies and chicken cooked in pan. |
    Four briquettes used.

Both times we put kettle on leftover coals.

Tonight it is cabbage & minced meat roulades

This will be our method of cooking during the lockdown. Cheaper and more fun than gas

Just to confirm that water is weighed in gm? Ots about 1gm =1ml? And does it have to be warm?

    Thanks for the recipe

    Cheers

Fry some onions and garlic in olive oil.

Add a cup of rice and fry until brown.... you need to keep stirring to prevent it burning.

    Add chopped tomatoes-canned is fine

    Add chilli to taste

Add stock block, salt and pepper

    Add peas if you wish

Cover with water, and stir occasionally until almost cooked dry

You can add other veggies or fruit as you wish

    Goes very well with chicken
    Thanks!

    Looking forward to making that...

I am bored, so will post for a change.

Cold and rainy in Pretoorsdorp. My neighbour gave me loads of chillies, so Chilli con carne on gas it is(at least some sort of flame involved) with lots of Middelvlei and music from the 70's and 80's.

    Cheers
