    Default Anyone know this JK?

    Hi Guys

    I am considering this JK.
I was wondering if the previous owner was a forum member?

I am not crazy about the mags. But the rest is nice.

    regards

    Jean

I am not sure, took it for a drive and it feels like it has enough power.

The current owner isn't the one who did all the mods, just spoke to him on the phone nice guy, traded it on a new Nissan double cab.
There are some lights on the dash which is a bit of a worry, ESP, Airbag and yellow check engine light. Is this a known problem?

They are offering me R110k for the TJ which I am happy with, I kind of just want to say yes but will go test drive it again before buying it.

I don't know but that price looks a bit steep for a 2010 model..

Only the 3.6 comes close to the TJ.

If the TJ was just a bit less of a pig on the road the choice would be much easier.

I can't argue there :-). But that 3.8 will leave you wanting the TJ back or a 3.6.

the Rubicon sticker is not original, so it's either been banged or it's not a Rubicon.

Does it have the Lockers and Sway bar disconnect switches?

at that price - I'm sure you'll pick up a 3,6. as mentioned, the 3,8 will disappoint.... reliable. but gutless.

Airbag is probably the clock spring. 5k if jeep don't cover it (not sure if the 2010 is covered on the recall)

ESP could be steering wheel off centre. (most likely if - especially if it's a bad/cheap lift without adjustable track bar etc)

Check engine light is usually a 5k exhaust sensor , but could be worse.

I think 300k is WAY too much!

It has lockers front and back but the swaybar disconnect seems to be removed.

I would not buy a car with warning light on the dash, could become very expensive, the "removed" sway bar button will also put me off the deal.

If it was like R250k maybe but not at R300k

Thanks luckily I didn't just sign after driving it the sway bar button is still there but looking at the sway bar I can't see the disconnect mechanism. I will try and wait until Monday before deciding

That seems expensive for a 2010 with that amount of km. I paid less for mine with 12,000km on the clock.

    I paid 299 000 for my 2010 model in 2012 with 30K on the clock, I recently saw a CRD at Jeep centurion for R299 00 2010 model and 120 000Km

So either people want to much for these or they have somehow gained value.

I just sold my 2010 for R210k with a set of 37" and 35" tyres and 96k on the clock. Agree with what apoc said in the lights, but esp could be wheel speed sensors (bothered on mine) and I had a check engine light that related to a faultyd fuel gauge. Just take it for a spin again and go pop it in a computer and check the error codes (could be seen with switching the ignition on and off 5 times but it does not show everything or history).

Price is too high, but there is nothing wrong with a 3.8 with a MANUAL box. Auto is crappy. No 3.6 could beat my 3.8 at Waterford in 3 years.

Check for a 3.6 JK with a manual box. Same NSG370 box as in the 3.8 with 60KW more. And you would get it for R300k

Power is nothing if the computer decides when it wants to shift. Wrangler autos are **** and that includes the pentastar, even if you "lock" it
