Talking Carnage Canyon 16-18 June 2017

    OK boys & girls,

It is time for the yearly wheeling fest, that is Carnage Canyon!

All the interested parties that would like to join us, please drop me an e-mail [email protected]

I will then send you the info, and you can decide if you comply with the recommended minimum requirements for the trail.

This year will be a true minimalist camping/wheeling trip, meaning you will have to bring everything, and take everything out with you.

The dates chosen ensures that no vehicles will require scuba gear this time around

Here is the latest list of all that have confirmed to be there 22-05-2017:

    1. Ronald Hairbottle
    2. Leon Papenfus Jnr.
    3. Jimmy Olds
    4. Deon Smith
    5. Dirk Van Reenen
    6. Sakkie Coetzee
    7. Reenen Kritzinger
    8. Jean Van Niekerk
    9. Francois
    10. Dawid Loubser
    11. Vic Rundle
    12. Hansie Coetzee
    13. Arche Coetzee
    14. Lourens Rautenbach
    15. Nico Fourie
    16. Bruce Swatton
    17. Jan Bredenhann
    18. Shaun Van Rooyen
    19. Johnny/Rudolf Durant
    20. Fransie Smit

    Still deciding:

    1. Andre De Klerk
    2. Leon Papenfus Snr.
    3. JJ Jacobs

    Spectators:

    1. Woolf Freinkel

    Vehicle requirements:

    • Reliable vehicle, no limping components, if it is suspect, replace it prior to the trip
    • At least 33" tires, 35" + preferable
    • Lockers front & rear preferable (You will battle with open diffs)
    • Diff protection
    • Steering protection
    • Belly protection
    • Sill protection i.e. rock sliders
    • Remember, any lost clearance is bad, so fit protection that doesn't rob clearance

    Recommended spares:
    • Axle shafts - front & rear
    • U-joints for front axle shafts & propshafts
    • Gearbox, t-case & diff oil, power steering fluid
    • Sealant for diff covers
    • Fuses, relays & electrical wire
    • Tools that suit your vehicle

    Recovery gear:
    • Proper front & rear recovery points (A tow ball is not a recovery point)
    • Fire extinguisher
    • High lift jack
    • Jack buddy
    • Collapsible axle stand
    • Spade for pooping duties etc.
    • Tire plug kit & tire valves
    • Compressor
    • Tow rope, snatch strap & tree protector
    • Winching accessories, if winch fitted:
      • Snatch block
      • Rope weight
      • Bow shackles
      • Gloves

As soon as we get confirmation, i.e. money in the bank, I will start an attendee list.

So far there are quite a number of victims that say they are keen, so keep them coming!

Gaan beslis 'n paar steering rod ends saamvat.

Ek is def in. S net waar ek moet betaal.

    300mm onder my pampoen.
