    Hi guys,
those of you doing this trip as part of Cinco Extremos under the Ultimate Trail Master challenges, please remember the rules:
The vehicle must belong to you.
You must be the principle driver during the event.

    Note: Principle, not 'sole'.

So if it ain't your vehicle, or if you only drove a small percentage of the route - it don't count.

    Good luck!

Do people drive other people's cars on trips like these?

    Hi Ronald,

Please keep me in mind for next years Carnage Canyon. I really want to tackle it, sold my Jeep that I usually wheel with and only started building another one (JKU with 5.7 Hemi) in February while I am also busy renovating my farm house..😆😯

If someone has a jump seat open I would gladly help with petrol and pack rocks and run winch lines
    And I will bring Biltong😂😂

All the interested parties that would like to join us, please drop me an e-mail [email protected]

I will then send you the info, and you can decide if you comply with the recommended minimum requirements for the trail.

This year will be a true minimalist camping/wheeling trip, meaning you will have to bring everything, and take everything out with you.

The dates chosen ensures that no vehicles will require scuba gear this time around

Here are some pics to whet your wheeler appetites

do you mind posting the min requirements here?
or is it too "vehicle specific" to do?

    OK,

I have updated post #1 with the basic requirements for this trail.

Remember, these are guidelines, if you don't match all the criteria, and you still feel up to the task, by all means sign up.

Just remember that the idea is to complete the trail as a cohesive group, nobody wants to to be held up by a vehicle/vehicles that constantly needs to be recovered, winched, towed or repaired.

Any vehicle can break, we will deal with it as part of the experience, just don't let it be due to you being ill-prepared and/or naive.

And please don't cry if your pride and joy gets some rock rash or pin stripes, that is part & parcel of Carnage Canyon.

In any case, it makes for great campfire tales, much better than thinking about what reason you are going to give because your better half has reversed over the post box for the 5th time

    And by the way,

Spectators are more than welcome to join us, there is a service road running alongside the trail for the most part.

There will be no charge for being spectators, but if you look like a mechanic, you might be called upon to get your nails dirty, in the event of some poor souls junk spewing out parts on the trail.

This trail is very scenic, so there is no reason not to bring your kids, they will have a ball playing in the sand and on the rocks.

Guys this is a great opretunety to join in on this adventure, you can tag along as a spectator , join the extremos for a braai and even bring your gear along and camp on the trail with us.
As Ronald mentioned maybe you could lend a hand to help out somebody or just be their to shoot some video and take lots of photos to post as evidence of yet snother great adventure.
So no need to beg for a jump seat, you can drive your car up the service road and stop walk the couple of meters down to the river and view the Carnage. Then pitch your tent and be part of the group.
