[QUOTE=Markus and Zelda;4219767]An old railway station trading post revamped as a country style retro dinner with a tranquil feel and a rustic venue setting in the Umfolozi Village near Mtubatuba. Loads of really interesting displays, and themed rooms.... great browsing. QUOTE]

Thanks Markus, another place we will have to go find when we are in the area in October.

    Hi Dudley

After Bergville you will get to a big intersection just past the Amphitheater Backpackers where you will turn left towards Tower if Pizza and Mount aux Sources.... the resort is well signposted from there.

I know it has been said a few times already but what an amazing thread. Clearly a labour of love. Well done Markus and thanks for all the efforts. We will be delving into some of your recommendations with gusto when our Landy is back!

    Thanks again!

    Bierfassl Brekkie Menu

I have enjoyed them but, warning, I enjoyed my food in the military, in the hospital, on aircraft and even.................. the old British Rail sarmies

They open a bit late (09h00) but will serve a Weiss with brekkie (not sure if I should have posted that)

PS: There are/is a more Cafe oriented places in the complex near Wildfly but I have been thrown out of better places than that.

I havent been there so cant vouch for their brekkies; 1. Cafe Bloom and 2. Flamme Rouge Cycle Cafe

I doubt if they would have Weiss available

Laaitjie and I fly fish, Dullies and Notties area. Also lived in Umdloti and Ingogo for awhile and used to go to the old Sani Pass Hotel each December before it was bought and revamped, ruining the place. I always took the Lower Lotheni road to Himmeville.

A mate (Grant: ask Markus) and I would pub crawl our way to DBN to watch the Sharks play, via the Meander. I think on one occassion we didnt make it and watched the match on TV, allegedly.

I can definitely attest that thing can go pear shaped VERY quickly with Grant involved..... I remember a certain evening that resulted in a R6k Jack Daniels bill at Hooters....

If you need a fantastic place to camp or stay in a guest house in the Pietermaritzburg area look for "Ekukhanyeni Farm House".
It is owned by Thole here on the forum and is a real gem.
Have a look at the posts in my thread on caravan camping in northern KZN. https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum...17#post4256717
