Default 2.8 Hilux diesel filter question ?

    Evening all

i had my 2018 Hilux 2.8 serviced by the agents last week and today I traveled from Westville to Nottingham Road and back again.

The bakkie felt decidedly like a completely different car itís going like a rocket, I have never had such a marked difference with just a simple service. Is this normal for diesel, what causes the huge difference ?

I asked the SA to send me pic of the diesel filter. Is this normal for 20k kms ?

My fist turbo diesel hence all the questions

That is normal for a filter. They most probably did a software update

Thanks Grips for the reply, yip a software update make perfect sense, if thatís what new software can achieve then I will need to investigate the likes of ATM and Dastek a little more closely.

    Hi Trevor

Thanks for the reply, and I completely agree I seriously am blown away with the post service performance vs pre - I seriously makes me wonder what has or potentially hasnít been done previously.

Really impressive however and has got me
think to reduce oil change intervals to 7500kms and diesel filter changes to 15 000kms.

I change the diesel filter at every service, they are a bit expensive though.

    Hi Mudgrubber

It was Westville Toyota, I wasnít impressed with them when I had a gearbox issue.

However for the service I decided to take it back and was surprised.

Just had mine done at Westville eThekwini Toyota and I was impressed with the level of service. Prior one I went to Pinetown Toyota and it was ok but will stick with Westville from now on. My wifes boss who lives in Hillcrest takes his Fortuner there as he always has great service from them.
