Default Mitsubishi Triton 3.2 SCV (Suction Control Valve) replacement

    Hi everyone

I just want to find out if what I read online could be true.

Apparently some models of Mitsubishi / Nissan / Toyota and Isuzu share the same components, ie : Suction Control Valve.

I have checked and it seems that their part numbers are mostly the same and they are made by the same company . Has any know anything about this?

Reason for asking is that I'd rather pay R1700 for a part from Nissan than R5000 for it from Mitsubishi and it is the same part.

    Thanks

I bought mine from Nissan for R1500. As far as I remember it comes from their NP300 bakkie.

Can anybody perhaps confirm if the SCV part no is the same for the Gen 4 Pajero (2008 121kw)?

    Thank you.

That I'm not sure of, logic would say it is the same as the engines are the same as the Triton/ Pajero Sport up to 2010. Bt would also like to know for when I need to replace mine on the Paj.

If you can manage to get a hand and a cell phone down the side of the engine by the battery you will be able to take a picture of the back of the solenoid.
The part number is on the back from what I recall

Easy to take it off only 2 bolts holding it in place. Then you can check the no.

Thanks for all the replies. I got the part number from a member . Gonna buy the part tomorrow and fit it.

Some places want to charge me 3 hours of labour to fit it. So I am gonna fit it myself, then I hope my issues are done.

Thanks again for all the help.

Just make sure you clean the area well before removing it (maybe some engine cleaner and then rinsed off and dry).
Basically you don't want dirt in there so when the valve is out, cover the hole if you aren't replacing it with the new one shortly.
The dealers are meant to run a calibration for the pump characteristics after changing this valve. It is probably a good idea to do this

I had fluctuating idle and stalling when cold. I took out the SCV , cleaned it and put it back and problems went away. Felt a little gritty at first but after the cleaning was smooth.

Not difficult to do yourself, there is a clip on YouTube. The biggest challenge is having the right circlip pliers. Need to modify a pair to make it work as the holes are tiny...

Can I go to Mitsibushi to get this done ? Will it harm the motor if I drive it like that.

I think this might be it although it might be exactly the same as the 0360.
Try get the Mitsu part number for you car, give them your VIN number. You should be able to cross check once you have those details.
I think the other names may be manufacturing info.

It is the same. Just fitted 0360 part from Nissan and it works 100% .

Just confirming that those part numbers are the same for a 2008 Gen 4 Pajero.

Since the common rail fuel systems are from Denso, there are loads of compatible parts at other manufacturers. For eg. the MAF sensor was over R10k at Mitsubishi... Toyota sell the same one for around R2k.

I bought the SCV from Nissan (A6860VM09A) - Paid R1680

Mitsubishi Centurion installed the valve @ R977 for 1 hour labour.
I tried to do the installation myself but there was just not enough room around the SCV to work.

This is not my thread but thank you all for the valuable information and guidance!
