Default Help with Pathfinder roof rack

HI Guys. With the holiday season approaching, the need for extra luggage capacity has reared it's ugly head. I want to fit the X-RAD roof box but unfortunatley the Pathfinder(petrolfinder) does not have the cross bars that are required to mount the roof box. Any suggestions would be appreciated! I need a roof box that's closed and around 400l storage capacity.

Same problem...I've decided instead of the Thule offering, I will use the Nissan bars - they look WAY stonger and have 4 bolts as opposed to 2. I don't trust all that weight on just one bolt. Look at the brochures, also I went to LA Sport, I don't like the idea of them drilling in my roof so I reckon just buy the Nissan bars and add a rack.

I will then just make my own rack as it will be WAY WAY cheaper - won't look as good but who cares.

Seems I was mistaken about strength of the bars... I found this

I will now also just make my own bars.

OT but I refuse to pay the price being asked in the Kgalagadi. Bought at ASKAM at half the price. As it is I have the means to carry the wood

I had a similar issue, where I was looking for the cross bars (OEM), however all offerings were from Thule, etc. which meand it clams OVER the existing rails, as opposed to bolting in between it.

I built my own, had it anodised, and it works great (I also think it looks smart) :-)

    Hi Chris,

    Your plan looks excellent!!

Are you willing to share the dimensions of these "racks"...

    Thanks
