Thanks for sharing Johan. Looks like a good challenge, although that TJ seemed to do a good job of it at the end there.

This past weekend we decided to camp at Piesangkloof 4x4. Before then, I visited the trail 3 years ago and I must say I quite enjoyed the route. The camping spot is really nice with clean ablution facilities and drinking water on tap. The absence of electricity gives it a real camp-in-the-bush feeling and we enjoyed the entire weekend under the many trees surrounding the camp site.
The route was very scenic, as could be expected from the Magaliesberge area, but never boring. My friends with plaasbakkies quite enjoyed it and even if you drive a Rubicon, there never is a dull moment. Here are a few moments of the main route we did on Saturday:

Then, we decided to do a challenging section up a hill which, subsequently was labeled "Swift's Pass" (this was the owner's idea..). It proved to be quite challenging and unless you have double lockers, I would strongly recommend a winch as there is no turning around. Needless to say, much fun was had by all. This obstacle is definitely one to look out for and to put on your to-do list - and there is a claim to fame place holder for the first plaasbakkie with rear locker to make it up there without the help of a winch.
Enjoy and let me know what you think..

Johan did the plaasbakkies deflate tyres enough?
Very lekker trail, did it this weekend with a few other LROC guys, the rocks are pretty rough and in some spots you really need to pick your line cleverly or risk tyre damage, especially on the 19s, but the views are incredible and the camping was good. The Disco 4 did well, as expected, but the Duratracs were the real stars for me, my old tyres would have been shredded.
Side note: didn't deflate, think thats looking for trouble with 19s.

A mate and I did this trail on the weekend. Ok, I was just a passenger this time, but man, it’s a really great trail this I must say. It has a feeling of a ‘trail’ rather than a playground like hennops and dewildt.
I definitely want to get back there soon in my own car, even though it is a bit of a tyre eater!
