Hey Reenen, sorry to hear you having spares problems. That is really bad news, and a bit weird.

I had a bit of bad luck with my Thar a few months back shortly after I bought it when it popped the needle bearings on the 5th gear shaft while driving on the highway. No warning whatsoever, just a bang and then grinding noises.... No-ones fault, I put it down to bad luck and nothing else. Just one of those things....

Got it to Auto Sphere here in Benoni (the Mahindra Benoni authorized service center), and they repaired it in house. It was rebuild with only genuine Mahindra parts and I got it back in less than 10 days. No parts issues at all.

She has been running fine ever since.

    Hope you come right.

Not doing the heavy trails nowadays so I cannot give an honest opinion. But they're new (with the vehicle) so I will have them for a long time.
    Yours is the 265/65-17?
Do you think the 265/70-17 will fitt without rubbing?

Correct. Not sure about 70 profile, but someone here should know.
I would like to have the torsion bars set up a touch, but no doubt Mahindra would void the warranty.

No, they won't, just let your nearest alignment shop do it for you.

Actually, I think you're right. How would they know if that has been done.
Anyone know off-hand how much to ask them to tweak?
I 'm sure I read somewhere that Mahindra SA would not allow Air-riders to be fitted, hence my doubt about the torsion bar.
Wouldn't mind fitting a snorkel as well, wonder if that's allowed.

When they fit wheels to their special models they have to turn up the torsion bars to prevent rubbing, I know this as the same had to be done on my vehicle. They turn the torsion bars up till the wheels don't rub at full lock. Important for them to do both sides equally.

I was thinking of fitting a Air Lift 1000 if imnto tow alot why would that void the warranty?

What about a secondary fuel filter before the oem?

A snorkel from Bundu Gear is beeing fitting on mine at mahindra East Rand so it should be fine with the warranty

Apologies! Just had the first look underneath and there's a nice fat spring, shock & double wishbone. (We live & learn)
Regarding the air riders, I'm not sure where I heard or read that they won't allow fitment in the warranty period.

Apparently they won't even allow you to have one of their own Eaton LSD diff's fitted.
Why they didn't install in the SUV beats me. Could really have used one last weekend at Kungwini.
Scuse the ignorance, but there seems to be some sort of traction control that will not allow me to gather momentum for an obstacle. Instead, as it starts to climb, it feels like the brakes come on and one wheel just spins.
Sorry, but I'm used to being in full control of the vehicle, this was rather embarrassing.

Yes I tried to get a Eaton MLD fitted in mine as my diff exploded at only 500km after a week of ownership so its in the workshop for 5 weeks

I was told it would void the warranty and would not fit anyway
