    Unhappy Cleaning Canvas Canopy

    Hi guys

Does anybody know how to properly clean a canvas canopy?

I cannot remember what the guys at the fitment centre told me to clean it with about 2 years ago... .

I have a canvas canopy of which the color is starting to fade plus a few mud splatters are difficult, near to impossible to remove. I don't want to use any strong detergents, because these could damage the canvas and maybe remove the waterproof.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated...

If it is the PVC coated ripstop canvas, you can wash it with water and soap. But I doubt it is PVC coated if it starts to fade.

What we used to do with the caravan's tents (plain cotton canvas), was to brush (sweep) them while dry. Anything more than that, and it will not be waterproof any more.

I have canvas canoppy - when I wash the bakkie with Prepsol I just wash the canopppy with the stuff as well

Have had the canoppy for about a year now and still waterproof, etc.

don't know if this is the correct / recommended method of cleaning, but it works for me

    Hi

I'am not sure if the canvas is PVC coated but the canopy was made by Brakhah and is 100% waterproof. The colour isn't fading, it's just getting dirty, with these grey, black marks on it.

Soap and water doesn't make any difference.
