Default Is there a decent Hotel or Lodge near Jwaneng, Botswana

    Hi

I will be travelling from Mabuasehube to Gaberone in October 2017. We want to break the trip and stay over for one night in Jwaneng on the A2. I have googled and I see there's a Cresta Hotel. Not sure how safe it is.

Does anyone know of a safe Hotel or Lodge near Jwaneng, or should I take my chances with the Cresta.

    Thanks

    Allan

Years ago I stayed in a lodge in Jwaneng, it was very pleasant with good food. Not sure if it is still there but the location is basically on the left hand side of the main road past Jwaneng as you travel away from Gabs. Maybe google Maps will indicate what the place is called.

I checked. It's next to the A2 directly opposite the golf course. I can't upload a picture using this useless Tappit Talk app on my phone.

Stayed over at Cresta in July 2016. No security issues, decent hotel by Bots standards, relatively expensive as the rest of Bots hospitality industry.
A cheaper option is Motse hotel in Kanye, but then you are virtualy in the Gabs burbs.

    This is scratching somehow.
WHAT EXACTLY IS A SAFE HOTEL?
Is it a secured parking lot or a room door with 3 locks and video surveillance. Is it a night guard on duty or police patrol around the streets at night.

Guys, if you come visit Botswana, do you homework, you are not going to Hillbrow after midnight or do night touring in Kayalitsha.
We normally don't have safety issues at hotels in Botswana and if there is an incident (I don't remember one in 15 years) then it's the exception

Stop trying to portray SA downtown standards into Botswana, it simply does not do justice.

Oh, then a bit of common sense or what remains of it often helps.

Cezar Motel was good when we stayed there a couple of years ago.

No camping worth mentioning in Jwaneng which is really frustrating. Friends stayed in the Cresta in April, general feedback was clean and neat but a bit expensive and a bit noisy.

But if you are heading for Gabs, rather stay at Mokolodi in Gabs. Quite do-able from Mabua. Or Phuhududu farm near Lobatse, depending on which border post you intend to use.

Not wanting to hi-jack this thread, but I have to agree with KalahariSafari`s sentiments. I travel extensively in Bots (private and work) NEVER had any security issues EVER. ("common sense")

I use the hotel/motel on the left often. Food is excellent.

We stayed over at the Cezar Hotel a few years ago. It was fine.
