Default Travelling to Port St Johns via Umtata (N2)

We are on our way back to Ballito from Cape Town and will be staying 2 nights in Port St Johns - tomorrow and Monday night.. we heard that there were a bit of problems with stones been thrown on the N2 on Thursday. Has anybody drive the N2 after that?

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

Todays problem will probably be different to that experienced tomorrow.
You cannot live your life in fear.
Here are different people travelling these roads every day.
Tomorrow someone may get shot in Port St. Johns while you are there,
With no injuries or threat to you or your loved ones.
Life is a risk, do you want to spend yours under the bed?
Sorry, I am not trying to be mucho, but crime is a reality, that may never happen to you, but probably will, when you least expect it.

Only advice I can offer having done the psj - durban trip in the last month is travel during daylight hours, ask your co pilot to keep an extra set of eyes out for animal walking/crossing the road, watch out for the unmarked speed bumps between lusiki and flagstaff!!! They just pop up on you from nowhere! Lastly there is some roadworks going around the Bizana area, the stop and go are roughly 15min and watch the rear of your vehicle if you have a bakkie of sorts...
