    Default Staying off the tar

Swambo and i are in Cape Town for a week or so and then we driving up to Stilbaai. We would like to to able to stay off the tar roads as much as possible between Cape Town and Stilbaai. Is this a possibility and if so, does anyone know which routes or roads to follow etc.. or have some advice ?

Tell the gps to ignore the tar and to go shortest route.

Better still set the GPS to 4x4 and only use the compass
