    Smile Great adventures ahead

    Hi Guys,

Judging from the humorous posts I've read so far I can see there is lots of fun to be had in this community, whilst also learning some great lessons of course. So, as per the forum guidelines, let me take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself.

Go by the name of Johann and have been an avid fan of the great outdoors since ive been able to spell "Tree". Unfortunately, I have definitely not racked up enough 4x4 experiences thus far in my life and therefore have made the conscious decision to prioritize such now that time and resources are starting to allow me the luxury.

So I am thoroughly looking forward to getting more involved with this community in my quest in becoming a seasoned veteran as many of you seem to be and, God willing, many new friendships are formed on the way.

    Thanks for the opportunity.

Now that's a decent introduction. Welcome to the wonderful crazy world of undecided grumpy 4x4'ing.

Oh! And hopefully you have deep pockets, otherwise there is the very popular " I need something you wanna throw away" thread

    Welcome.

What 4x4 are you thinking of getting?

Seeing as you are in Pretoria, best place nearby to get some offroad experience is probably Groenkloof.

    Hi Albert,

thank you for the tip, will definitely keep that in mind. Regarding the choice of 4x4, I will still be spending a lot of hours on research and discussing it on these forums, very much still an open investigation

Welcome to a great family. As per 4x4....buy an Isuzu 280D or 3.0 Diesel 4x4 Isuzu. Sorry there is no better vehicle to have.....unlike all the other Prius 4x4 owners

Good advice to get an Isuzu. Just remember on your way home to stop at Outdoor Warehouse for a tow rope!
