Do not scratch where it does not itch .

Put in a new more aggressive cam. - All you do is take power from one side of the spectrum and move it to the other
Change the exhaust to branches and freeflow. - Can help but you need the full package to get the most out of it
Flow the intake ports and headers. - does work but it is costly
Chip the baby. - The person who built the computer for the Cora is on this forum so pm Manie dup and ask him if there is anything in the change.

At the end of the day you are going to spend a lot of money to get an additional 5 or maybe 7 Kw out of the baby, in my book not worth the effort.

Mine goes like anything and tows a Mini all over the country.

I have to say, I had a corsa lite 1.4. bought it secondhand for 30000, 4 years old with 168000 km on the clock. Unfortunately, it has NEVER been serviced in the 168k km, but I knew it.

It had lots of work. We had to strip off everything bumper to bumper, to fasten everything, even the bumper stiffners was loose, and, because of the excellent service history, the engine was shot. So I went to delta, and got a crate sub assembly for an eye watering R2436.00, and the gasket kit for just about the same money, and just bolted everything over, replacing the cam belt and water pump with new stuff from midas.

The radiator had to be repaired, as the fan came off and shaved through the core, but all in, new tires and alignment included, I have not spent 12k and a week from taking delivery, to roadworthy.

I sold it 4 years, and around 45000 km later, for R49000, and it was an absolute blast owning it!!!

Will I get another one? No. Its a very small car when you have kids...

Now, getting back to your story, have done half a rebuild on a corsa motor, personally I won't touch it.
