I believe that the 2.2 Ford interior to be far superior to the 2.4 Toyota.

The FT 2.4 has leather seats as standard, likewise on the XLT?

    PS : (Indeed it seems)

Default Everest 2.2 xlt auto or Fotuner 2.4 auto

Fortuner... much better interior and you can extend your warranty to 6 years 220 000km( original toyota warranty not an aftermarket warranty). The Ford maaaybe better looking from the front but the rear fortuner wins hands down. Better performance on the 2.4 as well....... and cheaper insurance

Nope.... Everyone here knows that you're a Toyota loyalist and I refrain from commenting wrt their reliability, theft or RUSTING CHASSIS (seeing as you had some much to say about my fortuner without knowledge of any of the facts). My comment to the gentleman asking was legit in checking with HIS insurance who insure HIM.

    Get the Fortuner!

If it does not quite live up to your expectations, in 6 months time, when its gets stolen and you need to replace it, then get the Ford.

    LOL!!!!

And get real insurance for a 4x4, don't go for the Mickey Mouse insurance guys, go for Tuff Stuff or Cross Country. Ask them both (and only them) for quotes.

In reply to the above post.
    Get the Everest, and
    dissapointmentgiving you trouble, then
    Buy the Fortuner, and
Put in the anti-theft goodies, as
Everyone who does not own theToyota,
Would love to have one, then
Make sure that whatever you purchase,
It must be a 4x4, because
When travelling in our neighbouring states, and
You want to pull off into a riverbed for brunch, and
You cannot do this for cear of getting stuck, then
    You will be sorry, especially
When you decide to get off the normal tourist routes & blackstuff, then
You will really be sorry, unless
You travel everywhere with the cavalry.

Buy what suites you and what you want to be driving, then
You will only have yourself to blame if you have dissapointment.

In reply to the above post.

You can put in all the anti-theft devices you can think of, they steal Toyotas in under 2 minutes. They strip the inside while an accomplice is driving, find the tracking device in under 5 minutes and rip it out and toss it out the window.

All you need to do is ask the guys here on this Forum who have had their Toyotas stolen what devices they have fitted, yet the vehicles were stolen in minutes!

They even come with their own on-board computer and keys, remove your car's computer, fit theirs, and drive off with your car!

I worked in the motor industry for about three years after retirement and just about every week we got a stolen & recovered Hilux or Fortuner in to re-assemble, or one that was recovered locally after a year, to take out dents, replace bent bonnets, re-fitting dashes that were ripped out to find the trackers etc, etc.these guys rip out the carpets and seats, RIP off and destroy door panels, you have no idea how bad they are when they come in. And no matter how hard you try, that refitted dash will always rattle and some dash functions you will never ever get to work......

And then after all that, the vehicle ends up with a police VIN and Engine number and becomes worthless. One that no insurer will touch again due to the Police numbers

The best way to prevent your Toyota from being stolen is not to have one.
