Can't remember if I have posted this - When the tide recedes on the sandbanks in a lagoon, one often finds these ripples in the sand, left by a combination of wave action and wind.

Lovely picture, it's just ironic that one of the attributes makes that pic so beautiful is the reason for the mining of the dunes and the ongoing threat to the more northern pristine dunes and coastal forests closer to Maphelane and other areas...

Looking down onto Swaziland from Ingwavuma. One can stroll down the mountain or up as there is no border fence, at the bottom of the Gwaliweni area on the Swazi side there is a place you can catch a taxi to Nsoko and from there where you want to go. I have seen donkeys carting wall units, corrugated iron sheets and what have you up and down here. And of course sugar in bulk sacks up into SA.

The drive across the "spine" of the Lebombo mountain from Ingwavuma towards Jozini is really scenic, well worth a bucket list entry.
I now see the pic seems a bit fudgy, I have a high res version somewhere which I will replace with when I find it.

Another pic from the Mdletshe tribal area near Hluhluwe. A dilapidated and unused, apart from goats seeking shelter, abandoned stucture which at first glance shows this to have been a trading store or shop. It being in this state and not being utilized by someone means something bad happened here making it verboten to make use of this establishment. The original owners will not "sell" it and no one will want it anyway. The spring leafed Marula tree providing shade also will not be touched, but for other unrelated reasons.

Out of interest, the clan name or isitakazelo for Mdletshe is Ngomane. Ngomane was an induna in the Mdletshe clan who, on Shaka's mom Nandi's expulsion and eviction to the Mthetwa area took her under his wing and cared for her for some time.

So if you have a co worker who has the Mdletshe surname, you can call him Ngomane (male only as the women have long story to it) which is a sign of respect.
