    Cattle Egret, in isiZulu "Umlindankomo" ( who waits for the cattle) or "Inyoni kayiphumuli" ( the bird that does not rest)

    The Nguni hide coloration that is mostly white is called by these names.

    Quite correct Riaan, the favorite coloration of the ancient royal kings. The shields of King Shaka's most experienced warriors carried inyonikayiphumuli battle shields. King Mpande's favorite royal herd was inyonikayiphumuli!

    And the Royal herd was kept at oFasimba at Ndlangubo area in the Nkwaleni valley, where the Hlomendlini resided.

    Edit- the Hlomendlini was the crack regiment you referred to.
