flip...... i was hoping not hear that
I see Ashcroft do a 1.100 which might be a better fit i would like to bring down my revs to around 2300 doing 120kmph
cruising at that rev range would be great for long trips and great for fuel efficiency

What were your revs like with 1.003 ? not enough torque?

    thanks for the help
flip... So you want to change your final gear ratio to the same as a LEXUS 430 platkar. If I remember clivemd also had a thread about going to 1.003 I also mentioned at the time that in my view that is low. And that with a Yank V8.

The 1.003 is mainly for the big Diesal conversions where you need the low RPM
At 120 I was doing 1840RPM was nice for cruising but not good low down as the 4L80e Auto has a high 1st and 2nd compared to the 4L60e

Ashcrofts has a gear ratio calculator with preset options for defender and discovery among others.
