    Default Blocked carb- Weber 34

    Hi guys

So the old girl started running a bit rough on the way home and now she refuses to start.

Fuel and spark is there so I'm thinking that some dirt from the fuel tank got through.

Is it a bad idea to try and clean it with carb cleaner without removing and taking the carb apart?

First check and replace the inline fuel filter.

You DO have one fitted, right?

That was the first thing I did...fuel gets delivered to the Carb so that's not the problem. I should probably remove the tank and clean it out, problem at the moment is finding the time

To add- cleaned out the sediment glass bowl, plenty of dirt in there.

You can try carb cleaner then but I don't know if it will clean a float needle and jet.

I'd say you'd need to strip and see.

But I can't understand how a needle jet can be blocked if you had an inline filter, unless the vehicle stood and the fuel has gelled.

Carb cleaner down the float vent?

This happened 2 years ago as well, Jets almost completely blocked. Probably have to remove the tank to give it a proper clean out.

if ur tank is having issues with debris in it maybe you should consider dropping it and taking it too silverton radiator for epoxy job only like 2700 there bouts. look into the barrel and turn the throttle and see if fuel entering the barrel if not then definitely a clog somewhere.

Start her on quick start, rev it up and block the throat with your hand a couple of times....if that doesn't clear it, its stripping time..

You sure you don't have water in your carb?

Float issue would normally flood the carb, a split/cracked diaphragm will starve you.
