    Default Trailblazer wheel lock nuts

    Hi All,

We are heading to Cape Town in Dec to visit family for 3 weeks, but the only parking is on the street. Area is good but notorious for cars on bricks once a week.
What lock nuts has anyone tried, are they worth spending money on or are they simply a mindset. The nut on the TB 18" wheels are fairly exposed, does that mean vice grips can overcome the lock nuts?

    Advice would be appreciated.

I read that the McGard keys tend to strip really easily? Do you have a set and have you used the key a few times?

One thing to have your wheels stolen, but to be stuck on the side of a freeway with a flat that cant be changed is not too much fun.

My McGuard wheel lock nuts do not work with a conventional key. Their wheel nuts have a specially designed head that only works with a specially designed socket that fits only that nut. You obviously have to take great care not to loose the socket.

McGuard wheel lock nuts are of a very high quality.

I've had McGuard on my bakkie since I bought it beginning of 2002. Never had any problems. If they are very exposed you probably could use a vicegrip but all these things merely make it a bit harder for the criminal and takes a bit longer. I would not hesitate to spend a few bucks & hopefully keep my wheels.
