Default 500ppm or 50ppm Do you actively choose by conscious thought wtr to the environment?

Make your mark on the poll

Do you actively choose 50 and lower due to conscious thoughts on the environmental impact it might have or is it for some other reason?

Why do you think it does or does not have an impact on the environment?

Where is the POLL Andrew? (Ahhhh added now)

Will not make an impact because it will be offset by DALET cycling for a while.

    I use 50ppm because I can't find 500ppm any more. Even MBT has 50 and 10ppm only.

Same here, have only ever bought one tank of 500PPM in Marken. My local station only stocks 50PPM.

I had a 1700 Diesel Corsa LDV and I used 50PPM because the oil change intervals were longer. I think 7500km for 500ppm vs 10000km for 50ppm?

So it was a financial decision? Have you ever worked out what the cost difference would be if you serviced at 7500 and used 500ppm?

Although... that 1700, actually runs on vapours... So yes, maybe you made the right choice

I think he is trying to find his bicycle shorts............

Plus, adding to the financial advice given, how much more pollutants does a old car put into the atmosphere than a newer, more fuel efficient car.

I use 500ppm diesel in my donkey, and I do not have to justify doing so to anybody.

At the current point of my life feeding myself and those with me is more important than saving a tiny bit of pollution.

The R400 odd I save a month can feed the 6 of us for just under a week...

Deon, I honestly do not see the need for you to have to justify your decision.

I assure you that there are many many more people with exactly the same reasons as yours, myself included.

Maybe if the bunny f....kers see some of us have REAL reasons for doing what we do, they might just leave our bunnies alone.

I think all this pollution bollie is (In our country at least) just being used as a money making fad.

If there was to be any intent in pollution regulation there would be much stricter controls in vehicle exhaust gas emission controls... And shantytown pollution...

I wonder how much pollution is created in building a new engine compared to building a older engine off the same cc. Cat converters is made of rare metals that are mined. Look at the rare earth mines in the Amazon jungle.
