Entertaining well written trip report. Thank you very much.
At Ngweshla you should have done the short loop around the waterhole. The resident pride is always in that area and judging by the bones specialise in elephant. Killed one during our visit which was very vocal throughout the night.
We travelled the Power Lines road to Kariba before Mana Pools (short cut).
We had the same campsite at Nyamepi, Mana Pools.
You missed going to Chitaki Springs while you were at Mana Pools. Here the lions are also very vocal and busy after dark.
We also did Motopos after also spending the night at Antelope park.

Great to see all the recent trip reports about Zim as when we started this there where very few recent ones. Hope this is useful to someone.

    Hello Karl
Thank you for posting your SWAMBO’s report – I found it very interesting! We are doing a similar trip in August this year but were fortunate enough to be able to book two exclusive camps - Chitake 1 for three nights and Mucheni 2, also for three nights. Did you book your bush walk in advance? Or did you request the walk on arrival? We are interested in doing a walk from each camp.
    Cheers

What a great trip report, also makes me homesick. I lived in Karoi until I came to SA in "83. My best friend owns Gache Gatche lodge and he tells me their camp site is up and running so pity you didn't go. If anyone want to go to Gatche let me know, I'm sure I can get you special rates. Thanks again for the trip report.
