    Default Trailblazer Tyres

Hi all a lurker here waiting to get mt new 2015 Trailblazer auto Silver . Has anyone put 265/65/18 tires on their Trailblazer and how is it ? I want BF Goodrich but they only come in 265/65/18 and the stock Trailblazer tire size is 265/60/18 or should I just go for Hankooks in the correct size ? Any advice appreciated ?

    Hi Bajax

the TB i am buying now has got them on. My first impression when i test drove the vehicle was that they are a bit hard. Looks very nice but with a R4000 price tag i would think twice

Also look at General Grabber A/T 255/60/18 which comes standard on the Isuzu when fitted with the same 18" rims.
I got a quote last week for R2150 per tyre.

I replaced our H/T tyres with Dueller D697s. Also fairly hard, but meaty looking A/T tyres. I could get a set of KO2s for the same price with only 1000km used but the history of slippery BFGS and an increase in fuel consumption due to the 65 profile swung my decision.

i decided to take the BF's of the TB i bought yesterday. the dealer is buying them from me. i just don't see chance to pay R4500 for a tyre should i write one off (the chances of that happening are good because we travel quite a bit on gravel roads)

i am going for the Grabbers. the 255's are 6mm smaller than the original 265"s. fuel consumption and power will also be better i think.

Just check the spare tyre, about two rim sizes smaller than the fitted tyres.

Beware, the Duelers have a bad reputation about their sidewalls. Prone to damage...

Are you sure you not thinking of the Grabbers? We have done nearly 10,000km in our Duellers on tar, gravel, mud and some off roading without issues?

Seems I am the only Pirelli fan around here Fitted the Pirelli Scorpion A/T's and very very happy as it is an extremely quiet A/T.

I've done 25,000km so far with them. Mostly tar but did about 500km extremely bad gravel in June. No issues.

Pirellis are excellent - low noise, good in wet, many kms

Generals also excellent - has won many test comparisons

BFG looks great, very hard, chips easily, many kms, expensive, bad in wet

Fitted 4x Pirelli Scorpion ATR's on the Trailblazer yesterday after reading good reviews. Let's see how they go... Paid R2450 per tyre at Thomas Tyres (Tyremart) in Roodepoort.

I got around this by fitting a 265/70/16 tyre to the spare wheel, its just 2mm bigger then the 265/60/18.

To my mind its extremely ridiculous fitting a spare wheel that cannot be used in 4 wheel drive on a 4x4 vehicle What on earth were they thinking?
