    Default Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Anyone been to the Northern section recently? i.e. coming in from Rakops, around the various routes and camps in the north?
I am keen to find out about the road conditions, and also if anyone who drives a Fortuner D4D Auto who can give me fuel consumption figures experienced whilst in CKGR
Also, any info on fuel availability in Rakops -
    Thanks, Denis

When do you plan to go?
Currently should be very dusty until the first rain.

    Hi DenisH,

We will be going for 6days from 26 September - Sunday Pan | Piper Pan | Kori Campsite - will give you an update when we return around the 8th of October, if that is not too late.

Just returned from Mabuasehube, there was a Hilux D4D in the party, the consumption dropped from 9.5km/l to 5.9km/l when we left the tarmac, hope that helps.

    Enjoy the trip-prep!

    Hi Heinrich
Thanks so much for the info
Will be great if you can let me have an update. Especially if you're going in through Rakops side
I'm still looking for a contact number for the fuel stop in Rakops so as to be able to check with them if there's diesel available when we get up there, so if you can perhaps find that out as well please
Loving the trip prep - am doing a complete fitment of the vehicle and learning lots as I go!

Read Stan Weakley's trip reports. He is a frequent visitor to this area and his reports are of the highest quality with HERDS of information.
