After reading this thread a while ago I thought to investigate as I always wanted to get a big bazaar table. My Desert Wolf has got space for a table that size in a bin beneath the tent.

Well, Desert Wolf quoted for a stainless steel and Alucab for an aluminium one, both came in a few cents short of R3000 excl VAT.

At that price I've expected at least gold or silver plated tables, but they only do ss and alu

I might find a plastic one that will fit into the trailer bin.

Speak to Hannibal as well. Distance is no problem for them.

I actually went and bought myself one of the medium-sized ones at Campworld last week. Very nice and sturdy. Quite a bit heavier than my old plastic one, but more compact. Thanks for reminding me of them, 2510JP! 8)

Hmm - reviving a cold thread....while looking for ideas on a DIY table to be used for overlanding. It must be lightweight, sturdy, easy to access (under the roofrack is fine) and quick to erect (quicker than the roll-up slatted table).

In my experience the SS fronrunner table that slides in under the roofrack is the ultimate solution, except price (R1000?) and the legs are a bit on the short side?

I've also been looking at this recently. I used to have an aluminium table about the same size as the metal canteen types. 1800x800mm. It came from a B'rakhah trailer. Very strong and sturdy, it would hold 2 x 25 litre water containers as well as gas cylinders, potjie pot etc. It had a textured aluminium top which didn't heat up as much as stainless or dent and didn't show marks when you wiped it. Legs folded inside the frame and it was light and low profile. I have a plastic one half the size which weighs twice as much and when folded is about 3 times as thick. It was expensive but worth it. Materials and labour to make a table like this are costly. If I could find another one I'd buy it. Otherwise I'm going to make one myself.
