    Default Which snatch rope?

    Hi all

Currently in the market for a snatch rope for my 110. Have contacted Michael Green from Securetech (always awesome service BTW, very impressed) about his 9m 12T kinetic rope, as well as looked at the offerings at 4x4 MW.

The general recommendation on the forum is the Pofadder from Engel (however I can't seem to get in touch with him), any idea what these currently go for?

Also heard about the Ropeworld and Wild Dog4x4 kinetic ropes; has anyone had experience with these?

What do you have? What has your experience been? What do you recommend?

I must be careful, might just launch an SJ if I get something too stretchy.

Also considering the Securetech 9m 12T snatch strap (instead of the rope), any feedback on this would also be appreciated.

It all depends on how, for what purpose and how often you want to use it. If you want to do multiple recoveries, get a rope! (like the pofadder). If you want to have it as a back-up for a crisis, then a strap is OK. The rope takes up a lot of space.

Thanks for the reply. Luckily the 110 has some decent space, so I could probably stash the rope somewhere. Wanting something that I can take along whenever I go out on trails, just in case I get stuck and need a tug to get out. Not really into going mud bogging, getting stuck up to my door sills isn't on my to-do list. Just want something that gives a smooth pull, that will last, and hopefully not need to be used too much. Would just rather have it for when the need arises.

I've got one from Ropeworld, used it a few times in sand only with no problem. Also came in a nice bag and with shackles.

Thanks for the reply. May I ask what you paid for it?

My sleeve supplier are a bit slow. I have about 200 just to sleeve. Once that is done I will have up for sale. My little hospital stint buggered my timing up a bit

A bit late, but thought I would post what I ended up getting.

12 Ton 9 metre Kinetic Rope including bag R750 incl. VAT

Normally comes with sleeved eyes, but had the whole thing sleeved at an additional cost of R280.

From Johann at Rope World Cape Town. Excellent service, would highly recommend. Bag is big enough for me to put my shackles and gloves (and perhaps a bridle - still need to get one).

Ek het al 'n pofadder by jou gekoop in die verlede, maar het hom verkoop voor ek dit ooit gebruik het (geld nodig gehad)..

I bought mine a while back from them as well. The entire rope is sleeved.
    Used it plenty of times.

I do realize that this is a 4 year old thread being resurrected, but these are the business... Any competitors for these in SA? I see they do ship

If Force is not the solution, not enough of it was applied....
