So about the shudder in first gear as you come off the clutch.
its more prominent if you at a high rev than idle. Say 100rpms more

Now here is the weird part. I figured out how to completely eliminate it.
    The answer? Wash the van.

If I have been on gravel roads and its dusty thats when the shudder appears. If I wash the van it goes away. I'm assuming its something to do with some sort of sensor which doesnt like dust.
Its not about how fast you are but about how quick you get there...

Is it normal for the rightside back seat not to flip up for passengers to access the boot seats?

Only my left seat flips all the way up the smaller section of the bench seat

Rattle on passenger side of dash when stopping at a robot

Centre Aircon vents not as potent anymore

I have a feeling its to do with the mechanical vents changing mechanism thingy not opening/closing/diverting the vents properly. The fan itself does blow but when its on a certain function (so to blow at the feet and front) it doesnt work well

No, both seats flip open all the way

Rattle at passenger side was an easy fix on my Fortuner.

When you remove the glovebox you will see a small plastic black box that touches the body on the left. Just shove a piece of foam/sponge in there and it will most likely be gone

Had the shudder problem on my previous Fortuner as well as on the new one but much less so. It comes and goes and I suspect it is heat related. The harder the clutch works the worse it becomes. I've learnt to not apply the accelerator until the clutch has grabbed so do not experience this issue anymore.

Only one injector or more? I hope the R20k was for 4 injectors. 2.4 or 2.8?

Although expensive, the price is not bad. 2009-ish it was approx R17000k for 4 D-4D injectors. (I also took out the 6y Toyota ext warranty on my 2.8 (R8k?), which will hopefully cover eventualities such as these.)

I think other brands' injectors can go up to something like R15k a piece?

Strange I find Toyota technicians up to date. Have had a few interactions with them very clued up and helpful and I am talking different dealers.
It is not what you buy its what you build.

It is common practise to replace all 4 injectors at the same time at dealerships, it has to do with giving warranty on the work , If only 1 injector is replaced and within a month another fails , guess who will be blamed for that , so if a customer insists on having only one replaced warranty is not given on the repair!
