    Default Disco D1 4" or 3" coils

Hi There all, I recently bought myself a Disco 1 3.9 V8, I have done some work on it and have replaced a few things ( HT leads, ignition coil, distributor cap, service including oils, coolant and etc ), work on the suspension done was most of the bushes are replaced, 2.5" body lift, 33" tyres, heavy duty coils ( which I want to change to 4" or 3" ), deleted the rear stabiliserz, 2 " coil spacers. I still have a few things to do ( 2" turrets, cranked rear trailing arms ). Where can I get 4" or 3" coils ? ( body damage when I flex hence want to change to longer coils), HAs anyone done this upgrade to 4" coils ? what should I be aware off and look out for ? Will appreciate your advice and suggestions..

Great choice, sorry I sold my D1 V8

I cant advise on the coil info you require but I can point out an important Forum Rule and that is you cant mention all of the mods you have done unless you post PICTURES

    Otherwise, they never happened

If you do longer coils you must also do the bump stops as well you need to extended bump stops

Anything more than 2" coil lift you need castor correction mods as well
Always think: Could this be sarcasm?

On that kind of lift there is a serious lot of mods to be done.

    Extended break pipes (Steel Braided)
    Extended bump stops
Cones in Coils to prevent dislodging.
Angle correction on both diffs (Bent Radius arms and shortened trailing arms) or adjustable trailing arms which breaks !
(The off center bushes do not correct your pinion angle enough)
Remove or lowering of front sway bar (The Prop shaft tends to bounce on the sway bar with extreme travel)
Replace front prop shaft with Double Cardan (D2 prop shaft)
Wide angle rear prop shaft with U joints on both ends (The rubber flex coupling do not last)
You might also have a wider turn circle.

I did a 2'' lift with Terrafirma Heavy duty coils and big bore +2 shocks and wanted to go higher by extending the body mounts on the diffs but it did not work out well and went back down again to only 2" and heavy duty coils
(Had a very bumpy ride when not loaded) and at the end of the day the ground clearance of the diff is the same and only higher with bigger tyres

    But it looks mean.....
