    Default Keyless entry on Mitsubishi

My wife has just phoned me to say that there was a warning to say that the batteries for the keyless remote are low. This is on the Outlander. I haven't seen the batteries but hoping some one can tell me are these batteries of a type only available at Mitsubishi or would they be obtainable anywhere else.

The reason I am asking is as mentioned I haven't seen the type of batteries and if they are specific to Mitsubishi only I will stop in there now. I just don't want my wife stuck with flat remote batteries.

    Thanks

No worries. I have now got the remote in hand and can check. I just want to avoid dealer prices!

The car manual says battery must be replaced at Mitsubishi dealer! I opened it and it is a standard flat remote battery available at builders warehouse

I can't imagine why Mitsubishi need to replace it. Unclip the back and clip it back on. Buy battery according to number on battery and Bob's your uncle. Don't have to have standard 5 to achieve that.

The manual will always tell you that "dealer must replace."

    Glad you are sorted!

Have a look on YouTube for videos of you car's remote and how to change the batteries. Might be a lot simpler than you think.
