Also did you make sure, that the fuel feed line from and to the lift pump were fitted correctly.

    Something is amiss somewhere.

    Good luck!
Agree with Herr Bosch if you have diesel at injectors and it still wont start can only be the timing is out

Hi Smarty - not yet... I got a second hand pump from another guy stripping his disco in Velddrif and waiting for the couriers to drop it off. Hopefully I can get it early next week and then test it.
If it works with the calibrated pump I know that my original pump just needs callibration.

Hi guys... Just thought i'd give you guys an update...

So firstly i had the bush on the dieselpump throttle linkage replaced. After this my dear old girl didn't even want to start... So i took the dieselpump to bosch to callibrate.

Got the callibrated dieselpump back and she finally started but only idled for about 8-10seconds before dying... Couldnt revv either

Feared the worse and thought that the diesel injectors might be the problem. Had them tested and they are still honkey dory!

Finally today we realised the diesel pulley and the cam pulley might be switched around. Swapped them around and first crank Voila!! SHE LIVVESS!!

So now just need to fit timing cover and connect all the last bits and pieces and Snaartjie will once again accompany me on some fishing trips and holidays...

Nice to hear you came right . Is it possible to mix the 2 pulleys up ? If that was the case that would explain your timing marks would have been out no wonder it wouldn't start
