Can anyone please tell me the progress of the building construction at Nossob? Are the new ablutions completed? Does the construction impact on the hide viewing?

Stayed at Nossob in March, builing works next to hide vary from digging foundations to roof height.New hide just needs finishing touches.Witnessed cheetah kill from hide albeit it about 200m from the hide, so wouldnt say it has too much influence.Game still come to waterhole throughout the day.

Just got back. New hide is finished. They are just starting with the new ablutions at the camp site. Just screened of the area Etc. Building new chalets along the river and new delux camp sites past the present camp site. A lot going on and noisy. Luckily 2 of the 4 days we were there was a Saturday and Sunday and most work stopped. Would have given Nossob a miss if possible.

I have just booked the premium camp sites for my trip to the Kgalagadi at end October / beginning November .. they are listed on the Sanparks online booking site with the following:

    Features:

    • Additional vehicles are charged a fee per night
    • Maximum 2 vehicles per site
    • PowerPoint
    • Private ablution facility per site (Wc & Shower)
    • Private kitchenette per site (basin only)

    Cost R550 per 2 pax.

I'm quite excited about that as I will be travelling with my elderly mother who often needs to get up in the night, and private ablutions will be very welcome! 8)

Will give feedback after my trip ....

Do post pics when you return.

Also - be prepared for some very hot weather.
We experienced 50C during that time of year.

    Looking great, thank you!

With these new luxury sites now available, are they allocating specific campsites now, or is one still free to choose any site on arrival (obviously with a booking) ?

There is quite a difference in price between the older normal sites and the Premium camping sites. Not sure if the Premium ones are also first come first served but assume so as we booked for next year and I was not allocated a specific one like the chalets.

Just back from Nossob 31 May. They are still busy with the premium sites but it should be completed soon. Busy with finishing touches. They are looking good. If you can book by number I would say from no 6 to 10 they are on the fence the others are a bit away from the fence. That is if the numbers were correct when we were there, as the numbers were just on paper stuck to the wall. Enjoy
