Only on our 4th visit could I eventually do that trail in Mlilwane.

One of the changes I had to make, was upgrade the Tiguan to the Freelander 2.

The bit up to Birdseye from the camp is easy going - I've seen sedans doing it - but down the other side is a lot more tricky.

That warning about not going when it rains, is however valid even for the easy bit. You'll get to the top, but mess up the road due to wheel spin.

On one occasion we went up dry, but while hiking to Execution Rock, it started dripped randomly. When we got back to the car, it was raining properly.

The road was like snot, especially above the tree line. The car was sliding around until I realized I have to control the speed on the level bits and coast on the side-slopes and round corners.

But seeing as you like the place, I have good hope that you will accomplish your "mission" to do the trail. Don't skip the old railway tunnels and waterfall.

Nicktravel, thank you for the report looks like you enjoyed it. We have been going to Swaziland for the last 10 years only for cycling....They have a race there at Mlilwane...maybe should take a day or two more and do some other sightseeing. Did you have any issues on the border w.r.t proof of ownership on the vehicle? It looks like this is a new requirements and would just like to take the necessary precaution
