Ek hoor Patrol Hill kan soms moeilik wees.
    hey.

And since then I've increased its height by 1 meter, still 1 more to go... And the inside is a propper clay bath at the moment. But by wednesday a lot of that clay would have been scooped out and added to the wall...

On Trails only one in my eyes that I would say is tough meaning constant obstacles with average to high ratings and at 35km long with close to an obstacle every few hundred meters has to be Moegatle done right without skipping or taking chicken routes, include the klip as a side show and God se Pad if you are nuts. All other trails have at most a couple of obstacles. At the river section you go litterally from obstacle to the next with maybe 50m at most drive between them. I would guess (help me out guys), it has more than 50 obstacles if you drive it right and do the loop as well, you need at least two full days here.

3 provinces using all trails as one also provides for a great experience including Hells Hoogte the ONLY major obstacle my car could do but I chickened out being alone there was just not happening. Combining all the trails makes for major kilometers worth much larger than Moegatle and the most scenic apart from Rebellie you would ever find.

Toughest Obstacles is a whole different ball game as there are some serious ones on trails like Jobedi, Serendipity, 3 Provinces, Moegatle, Berakah (Rhino hill) etc

I did Moegatle last weekend and this got me wondering about what other trails can create the same level of excitement. Moegatle was an excellent experience for me.

Thanks for the info so far. I started compiling a list of trails in the first post. Will update as we go along.

Maybe we should compile a separate list for difficult obstacles?

PS. I went down Koos se klim, hopefully one day I will go up.
I am a bit unsure if my heavy Patrol bakkie without difflock will be able to make it though, maybe I will try it with the GRX with difflock.,..eendag as ek groot is.
Which obstacle is "god se pad"?

God se pad is just to the side of Koos. You have to be proper mal to do that one ...

A single or couple of difficult obstacles in a route/trail does not make it a difficult trail, IMHO. As tough trail / trails go, the 3 Hex routes must be near the top of the list. It consists of continious obstacles, often one directly after the other - especially the J-route, as mentioned by XJJ. I did all three routes over 2 days with the 4WDC a few years ago and it was really daunting.

In the wet, the Gorge by Hekpoort will be almost impossible for a Rubicon on 37" to make it trough the trial.

It makes Moegatle look like a walk in the park.

    PS...only when its wet.

The rubicon is the river route not open to the public but on wagon wheels farm before the farm was sold or divided into two. I don't think you would be able to do with a normal 4x4.
